Septermber 2019 - Present

Selected through application and entrance exam from students in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut area. Collaborated in advanced coursework and research in diverse STEM topics during weekends.

  • Data Science (Spring 2022): Hands on coursework in data analysis using the statistical language R. Explore open data sets such as NYC open data.

  • Bioinformatics (Fall 2021): Explored diverse topics ranging from genome wide association studies, to functional cancer genomics, to the human microbiome

  • Relativity and Quantum Physics (Spring 2021): Introduced to topics in Einstein’s special relativity and quantum physics; explored topics such as time dilation, wave interference, and mass-energy equivalence

  • Introduction to Algorithms (Fall 2020): Analyzed data structures and algorithms; explored topics such as run-time analysis, complexity classes, and dynamic programming

  • Biochemistry (Spring 2020):Explored how chemistry on a microscopic level can provide a foundation for biological processes; investigated topics such as metabolic processes, mechanisms of biochemistry technology, and how structure and function relate to DNA, RNA, and proteins

  • Human Physiology (Fall 2019): Introduced to the structures and function of the main organ systems of the body; explored topics in respiratory, renal, and nervous systems, among others

September 2019 - Present

  • Selected as one of 20 students to participate in this rigorous 3-year medical program at Ridgewood High School integrating advanced coursework combined with labs, research, internship and mentorship at Valley Hospital

  • Followed tailored curriculum that included RAHP-specific advanced courses such as AP Capstone program, Anatomy & Physiology, and various English and science courses

Summer 2021

GIRLS WHO CODE

  • Attended 3-week intensive summer program to learn how to code in Javascript programming language

  • Completed asynchronous modules on coding in HTML, CSS, and Javascript, as well as website design

Summer 2020

SUMMER@BROWN, BROWN UNIVERSITY, RI, PROGRAMMING IN R

  • Attended 4-week intensive summer program to learn how to use R for statistical analysis through asynchronous assignments and lectures

  • Completed independent research project analyzing correlations among income, educational opportunities, and educational rigor

  • Analyzed percentage of disadvantaged students in a given region and average household income per school, versus standardized test scores

Summer 2019

INTRO TO NEURO SCIENCE, SUMMER IMMERSION PROGRAM, COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY, NEW YORK, NY

  • Attended 3-week intensive summer program to understand anatomy & physiology of the nervous system

  • Engaged in various classroom lectures and lab activities, culminating in a final research project

  • Completed independent project and presentation on post-autopsy manifestations of Parkinson’s disease in the midbrain

Summer 2021

  • Held half-hour sessions reading various selections of children's books with individual children between ages 3-8 as part of the Teen Volunteer Program

  • Read and reviewed books as part of the Bibliomaniacs Program

CARING FOR NYC, NEW YORK CITY NY

  • Distributed care packages to homeless population in New York City during holiday seasons

  • Provided essential goods, such as blankets, socks, coats, non-perishable food, and hygienic goods

JUNIPER VILLAGE

2020, 2021

  • Prepared for and performed annual performances at Juniper Village, assisted living facility, during holiday seasons

  • Coordinated with musical troupe, including vocalists and other orchestra instrumentalists, to plan and execute performances

STUDENT & ASSISTANT, NRTYASAGAR DANCE ACADEMY

2011-Present

  • Prepared for and attended weekly dance classes to choreograph, teach, and perform various Indian classical (bharatanatyam) style dance numbers
